A national championship often serves as a pivotal moment in a student-athlete’s career, as certainly was the case for Susan DeNigris ’02 Kane. Her contribution to a national title in the 4x400-meter relay as a freshman at the 1999 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships served as the completion of one journey and the beginning of another.

Brandye Jackson became North Central College's second All-American of the weekend as the women's track and field squad concluded the three-day NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships 18th in the team tally.

Women's Cross Country
Lauren Hooks placed fourth at Saturday's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Cross Country Championships, earning the CCIW's Freshman of the Year.
Hooks is the third Freshman of the Year Award winner in four seasons for North Central, which won the CCIW Team Championship on Saturday as well.

Men's Cross Country
Sean Carlson placed first at Saturday's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Cross Country Championships, leading North Central to a first-place finish in the team standings for the 36th consecutive year. The Cardinals posted a perfect score of 15 points and had the first nine finishers overall.
Carlson is the 23rd North Central runner to win a CCIW individual championship.
