D3football.com Top 25 Poll

Oct. 25, 2009 - The North Central College football team has moved up to ninth among NCAA Division III institutions this week, according to the most recent Top 25 Poll released by D3football.com.

The Cardinals took down then-No. 3-ranked Wheaton College, 27-7, on Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium to improve to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin play. North Central moves back into the national top 10 since D3football.com's preseason rankings were published.

Mount Union College (Ohio) remains the No. 1 team in Division III, receiving 19 first-place votes, while the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is ranked second, having received six first-place votes. Wheaton, the only other CCIW representative in the poll, dropped to 14th.

The Cardinals travel to face Illinois Wesleyan University (6-1, 3-1 CCIW) on Saturday. Kickoff at Wilder Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. A live audio broadcast will be available at  89.1-FM WONC, and live in-game statistics will be available at iwusports.com.
