AFCA Top 25 Poll
Oct. 26, 2009 - The North Central College football team has moved up three spots to ninth in this week's American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinals defeated then-No. 3-ranked Wheaton College,
27-7, on Saturday to improve to 6-1 and take over sole possession of first place in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin standings at 4-0. Wheaton dropped to 14th in the AFCA Poll following the loss.
Mount Union College (Ohio) received 39 of 40 first-place votes to maintain its hold on the No. 1 spot in the poll, while the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is ranked second, receiving one first-place vote. Another CCIW rival, Illinois Wesleyan University, received votes but fell outside of the top 25.
The Cardinals travel to Illinios Wesleyan on Saturday. Kickoff at Wilder Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. An audio broadcast will be available on
