D3football.com Team of the Week

Oct. 28, 2009 - North Central College football players Kyle Fiedorowicz, Josh McLeod and Shaun Wild have been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for the weekend of Oct. 24.

Fiedorowicz was selected as the tight end for this week's honorary team, while McLeod made the list at safety and Wild was selected at punter.

Fiedorowicz caught two touchdown passes in Saturday's 27-7 victory over Wheaton College. He has stepped up his productivity in both games he has played against the Thunder, posting a career-high 78 receiving yards in last season's Little Brass Bell game. McLeod turned in team and career highs of nine tackles and three pass breakups to help lead a Cardinal defense that permitted just 206 yards of total offense to the then-No. 3-ranked Thunder. Wild landed two punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and helped North Central finish the game with a 33.8-yard net punting average.

North Central's three selections this week are the most of any team in Division III. Cardinal linebacker Willie Hayes and defensive back Scott Hogan have also received Team of the Week honors this season.

The Cardinals travel to Illiinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, with kickoff at Wilder Field scheduled for 1 p.m. An audio broadcast will be available on  89.1-FM WONC, and live in-game statistics will be available at www.iwusports.com.
