NCAA Division III Regional Rankings
Oct. 28, 2009 - The North Central College volleyball team has moved up one spot to fourth in the most recent Midwest Region rankings, released this week by the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Committee.
The Cardinals (28-3), who have a 23-2 record against in-region opposition this season, are one of three College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin teams to rank among the Midwest's top eight squads. Carthage College (24-4) sits third, while Illinois Wesleyan University (17-13) is eighth.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (31-1) is first in the region, followed by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (25-5).
The regional rankings are used to determine participants in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships.
North Central, which has won its last six consecutive matches, will serve as the host site for the Benedictine University Invitational on Friday and Saturday due to renovations on the BU campus. Action will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
