NCAA Division III Regional Rankings

Oct. 28, 2009 - The North Central College football team is currently ranked sixth in the North Region, released this week by the NCAA Division III Football Committee.

The Cardinals (6-1, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin), winners of six straight games, are one of three CCIW teams in the North Region's top 10, as Wheaton College is eighth and Illinois Wesleyan University is 10th.

Mount Union College (Ohio) is first in the North Region, followed by Otterbein College (Ohio), Wittenberg University (Ohio), Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) and the College of Mount Saint Joseph (Ohio).

The regional rankings are used to determine qualifying teams for the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

North Central travels to face Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. Kickoff at Wilder Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. An audio broadcast will be available on  89.1-FM WONC, and live in-game statistics will be available at www.iwusports.com.
