HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (Oct. 3, 2009) - The North Central College women's golf team closed out the 2009 fall season Saturday, placing fourth in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships at Highland Park Country Club.
The Cardinals sat in a tie with Carthage College for fourth place after Friday's opening round, as each team turned in a score of 364. North Central's Saturday score of 361 gave it sole possession of fourth place and left it just four strokes behind third-place Millikin University. Illinois Wesleyan University won the team title for the eighth straight year, tallying a winning score of 665.
IWU's Lindsey Haines finished as the CCIW's individual champion, carding a 36-hole score of 156 to top her nearest competitor by seven strokes. North Central's
Alyssa Gaudio earned All-CCIW status for the third straight season, placing fifth with a total of 168.
Marisa Miko ended the weekend with a score of 178 to place 14th,
Mallory Carr was 15th with 179, and
Jennifer Koonce completed the Cardinals' scoring by placing 30th with 200.
