Oct. 6, 2009 -- For her performance last weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional Tournament, North Central College's Cory Schillerstrom has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Schillerstrom won four matches at the ITA Regional, advancing all the way to the semi-finals of the consolation bracket. After an opening round defeat at the hands of DePauw's Courtney Griffin, Schillerstrom rattled off four straight victories, including a pair of, 6-1, 6-1, wins before falling to another DePauw athlete in the consolation bracket semi-finals dropping a, 2-6, 6-7, 6-8, decision to Taylor Prodromos.

In doubles, Schillerstrom teamed up with Alicia DeGrado finishing 2-1 at the tournament. The duo won their first two matches before suffering an 8-0 defeat at the hands of the No. 1 seeded University of Chicago tandem of Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu.

The Cardinals (11-3) concluded their dual match season on Monday, defeating Robert Morris University-Chicago, 9-0. North Central returns to action on Friday, October 9, traveling downstate to Bloomington, Ill. for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships.
