AFCA Top 25 Poll

Nov. 16, 2009 - The North Central College football team is ranked 18th in the final American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2009.

The Cardinals defeated Elmhurst College, 49-24, in the final game of the season on Saturday. North Central improved to 8-2 overall an 6-1 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, earning a share of the CCIW Championship for the fourth straight season.

Mount Union College (Ohio) received 39 of 40 first-place votes to maintain its hold on the No. 1 spot in the poll, while the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is ranked second, receiving one first-place vote. Illinois Wesleyan University, which shared the CCIW title with North Central this year, is ranked 16th.
