NCAA Division III Regional Rankings

Nov. 4, 2009 -
The North Central College volleyball team continues to sit fourth in the most recent Midwest Region rankings, released this week by the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Committee.

The Cardinals (33-3), who have a 28-2 record against in-region opposition this season, are one of three College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin teams to rank among the Midwest's top eight squads. Carthage College (29-5) has moved up one spot to second this week, while Illinois Wesleyan University (19-16) has moved up one spot to seventh.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (34-1) is first in the region. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (29-6) is third.

The regional rankings are used to determine participants in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships. Host sites and pairings will be made available Monday on ncaa.com.

North Central, which has won its last 12 consecutive matches, will travel to Carthage this weekend for the CCIW Tournament. The Cardinals play Millikin University in the semifinal round at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The championship match will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday.
