AFCA Top 25 Poll

Nov. 9, 2009 - The North Central College football team is ranked 19th in this week's American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll.

The Cardinals defeated Augustana College, 45-26, on Saturday to improve to 7-2 on the season and 5-1 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin play. The CCIW is also represented by 16th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University and 23rd-ranked Wheaton College.

Mount Union College (Ohio) received 39 of 40 first-place votes to maintain its hold on the No. 1 spot in the poll, while the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is ranked second, receiving one first-place vote.

On Saturday, North Central will host Elmhurst College (4-5, 1-5 CCIW) in the final game of the regular season. Senior Day festivities will be conducted prior to the scheduled 1 p.m. kickoff at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.  A live audio broadcast will also be carried live on 89.1-FM WONC, and live in-game statistics will be available at northcentralcardinals.com.
