All-CCIW Teams

Nov. 9, 2009 -
The North Central College volleyball team set another school record Monday, as five Cardinals have been named to the All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Teams for 2009.

Libero Stephanie Ryding was named to the All-CCIW First Team for the second consecutive season, while setter Ryan Lally and outside hitter Crystal Wright were named to the Second Team and Honorable Mention honors went to middle hitter Christy Hermann and right-side hitter Stacie Mokros. Lally was also honored as the CCIW's Freshman of the Year.

Ryding was also a Second Team All-CCIW pick as a sophomore, making her a three-time All-Conference recipient. She has turned in team highs of 828 digs and 46 service aces this season, ranking first in the CCIW and 16th nationally in digs per set (6.23). She ranks second in North Central history in career digs (2,557) and third in service aces (161).

Ryan Lally
Lally ranked second in the CCIW in assists per set (9.66) this season, currently ranking eighth in school history for assists in a single season (1,159). She has also contributed 27 service aces and 26 total blocks. She is one of three freshmen to receive All-CCIW accolades this year.

Wright, an Honorable Mention All-CCIW pick last year, leads the Cardinals in kills this season (393) and ranked fourth in the CCIW in kills per set (3.07). She currently has the sixth-highest single-season kill total in the program's history and ranks eighth in career kills (701).

Hermann, who also received Honorable Mention honors a year ago, is the Cardinals' leading blocker (79) and ranks second on the team and seventh in the CCIW in attack percentage (.272). Mokros has 252 kills and 66 blocks this year, ranking sixth in the CCIW with an attack percentage of .278.

The Cardinals' five All-CCIW recipients tops the previous school record of four, set just last season.

North Central (34-4) has established a new program record for single-season victories and advanced to the CCIW Championship Match for the first time under the current tournament format. The Cardinals have qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship for the first time in their history and will open tournament play Thursday against Heidelberg University at Hope College in Holland, Mich.
