2009 AFCA Coaches' All-America Teams
Dec. 15, 2009 - North Central College football player
Josh Delancy has been selected to the 2009 NCAA Division III Coaches' All-America Team, as selected by the American Football Coaches Association.
Delancy, a three-year starter at right tackle for the Cardinals, was one of five offensive linemen named to the 25-member squad. No Division III institution had more than one representative on the team.
A First Team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin selection and a Second Team All-North Region pick by
www.D3football.com this season, Delancy provided protection for an offense which ranked first among all divisions of the NCAA in scoring (49.0 ppg) and sixth in Division III in total offense (487.9 ypg). The Cardinals finished 8-2 overall this season and went 6-1 in the CCIW to claim a share of the program's fourth consecutive conference title.
This is the second straight season that North Central has had a representative on the AFCA's All-America Team. Linebacker
Matt Wenger was named to the team in 2008.
The AFCA has selected an All-America Team each season since 1945, and has picked a Division III All-America Team every year since 1996.
