NCAA Division III Regional Rankings (PDF)

Feb. 5, 2009 - The North Central College men's basketball team is ranked seventh out of eight teams in the Midwest Region, according to the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings this season. The rankings for each of the eight regions were released late Wednesday by the Division III Men's Basketball Committee.

The Cardinals (14-6, 6-3 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) are one of four CCIW teams in the Midwest Region's top eight, joining second-ranked Elmhurst College (Ill.), third-ranked Wheaton College (Ill.), and sixth-ranked Augustana College (Ill.)

Washington University (Mo.) currently holds the No. 1 spot in the Midwest.

The regional rankings are a key determining factor in the selection of teams for the NCAA Division III National Championships.

North Central hosts Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday at Gregory Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
