The North Central College men's and women's swimming program welcomed Wheaton College to the North Central Pool inside Merner Field House for the Cardinals lone home dual meet of the season on Thursday; falling 64-21 on the men's side and 52-33 on the women's side.
On the men's side, the Cardinals got two event wins from
Tyler Hsieh (Fr., Naperville, Ill./Central) in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke while
Stefanie Masterton (So., Morton Grove, Ill./Niles West) won the 200y free. Masterton,
Madeline Moton (Fr., Castle Rock, Colo./St. Mary's Academy) and
Ali Sanders (Fr., Springfield, Ill./Southeast) finished the meet on a high note for the women, winning the 200y free relay.
It was senior day for the Cardinals as the team honored
Tim Pedersen (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Burlington Central),
Tracy DuPuis (Sr., Worcester, Mass./Burncoat) and
Heather Granzella (Sr., Salida, Colo./Colorado State) for their service to the team.
Both the men and women return to the pool on Thursday, February 19, making the short trek to Wheaton, Ill. for day one of the three day College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships.
