May 5, 2009-- The accolades continue for North Central College softball players
Kara Reid and
Holly Roadruck as they both landed a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Third Team as at-large selections.
Reid appeared in all 39 games this season for the Cardinals, leading the team in runs batted in (38) and fielding percentage (.976). The junior second baseman finished the season hitting .320 with 14 extra-base hits while landing All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors for the second time in her career.
Roadruck, the CCIW Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-CCIW selection, finished the season with a 15-7 record in the circle with a team-best 1.95 earned run average. The junior righthander pitched 18 complete games on the season, including one complete game shutout while offensively, hit .350 and led the team in doubles with 14.
North Central concluded the year with a 27-12 record, surpassing the 20-win mark for the 17th straight season and the 23rd time in the program's 34-year history.
