John Fitzgerald has released the dates for the 2009 North Central College Summer Baseball Camps, which will be geared toward area youths ages 8 to 14 during the upcoming months.
The Cardinals will conduct two separate 4-day camps throughout the months of June and July. Camps will run Mondays thru Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. All camp sessions will take place at North Central College's Alumni Field at Zimmerman Stadium located on North Central College's campus. Each camp will include individual and group instruction on all facets of the game. The camps are designed to give local youth players a firm knowledge of the game and the ability to sharpen their skills, while allowing their parents to enjoy many of the shopping and restaurant options of downtown Naperville.
Instruction will cover the areas of hitting, pitching, base-running, infield and outfield play and catching. Campers will be taught the same drills used by the North Central Cardinal baseball program. In addition to this, campers will have the opportunity to play camp games and contests on Alumni Field, which is equipped with a full batting cage area and four additional dirt mounds. Everything players need to have a great experience can be found at Zimmerman Stadium.
