PLAINFIELD, Ill. (Sep. 15, 2009) --
The North Central College men's golf team opened up its fall schedule on Tuesday, finishing 10th at the Saint Francis Fall Classic held at the Weagewood Golf Course. Nick Guido paced the Cardinals, finishing tied for ninth after shooting a 71.

Guido was a model of consistency, shooting a 36 for the front nine and a 35 for the back nine for the one-under par score. Joshua Brantner shot a 76 to finish tied for 35th while Matthew Grennell placed 50th after shooting a 78.

The Cardinals team score of 309 was good enough for a three-way tie for 10th place at the 18 team event. Division II Lewis University (Ill.) took top honors, shooting a 281 to outpaced host Saint Francis University by six strokes. North Park University finished as the top College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin team at the invite, shooting a 303 for a fifth place showing with the Vikings' Blake Blumenstock taking top honors.

North Central returns to the links on Monday, September 21, hosting the Cress Creek Fall Classic at the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville.
