NORMAL, Ill. (Sept. 20, 2009) -- The North Central College women's golf team finished 13th at the two-day Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic held at the Ironwood Golf Club.
Alyssa Gaudio led the Cardinals, placing 16th after carding a 164 for the two-round event.
Gaudio shot an 84 on Saturday before posting an 80 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 16th with a 164 at the Par 72 course.
Mallory Carr posted a team-best 83 on Saturday finishing the tournament with a 169, good for 32nd place while
Marisa Miko turned in a 64th place finish, shooting a 178.
UW-Stevens Point's Jessica Urban claimed top honors, shooting a 146 while Washington University in Saint Louis claimed the team title. The Bears finished with a score of 644, outpacing runner-up UW-Eau Claire by six strokes. Host Illinois Wesleyan finished fifth with a 661 to place first among College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin teams. North Central shot a 358 on Saturday and a 349 on Sunday for a 707, one stroke shy of 12th place and CCIW-rival Carthage College.
The Cardinals return to the links on Tuesday, making the short trek to Oak Brook, Ill. for the Elmhurst College Bluejay Classic.
