Cardinals Blank Blue Angels, 9-0

The North Central College women's tennis squad put together a dominating performance, Tuesday afternoon, defeating Mount Mary College (Wis.), 9-0, in a non-conference match at Ranchview Park.

In doubles, Jackie Morgan and Katie Hatch rolled to the 8-0 win at the No. 3 position while at No. 1, Cory Schillerstrom and Alicia DeGrado coasted to the, 8-2, victory. Abigail Conover and Jessica Ignarski picked up their eighth win of the year, downing the Blue Angels' tandem of Brittany Kamrich and Brittany Barker, 8-1.

The Cardinals continued their dominance in singles, posting, 6-0, 6-0, wins in five of the six singles matches. Schillerstrom downed Kamrich at No. 1 while Elizabeth Micheletti, Conover, Ignarski and Jackie Morgan posted flawless singles performances, playing at the No. 3 through No. 6 positions. At No. 2, DeGrado cruised to the 6-0, 6-2 victory over Mt. Mary's Alyssa Davis.

The win was North Central's second straight as they improve to 9-2 on the season. The Cardinals return to the courts on Wednesday and Thursday for a pair of junior varsity matches before taking on Millikin University on Saturday at Ranchview Park.
