CLAYTON, Ind. (Sept. 28, 2009) -
The North Central College women's golf team completed preparations for the upcoming College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships on Saturday and Sunday, taking 10th place in the DePauw University Small College Classic at Deer Creek Golf Club.

The Cardinals posted a 36-hole score of 716. St. Mary's College (Ind.) placed four golfers in the top 10 overall and won the event with a total of 635. The Belles' Martyna Mierzwa was first individually, carding a two-day score of 154.

North Central's efforts were led by Alyssa Gaudio, who placed 14th overall with a score of 166. Gaudio recorded the first hole-in-one in the history of the Cardinals' program on Saturday, sinking her tee shot on the 151-yard third hole.

Mallory Carr placed 37th with a total of 175, Marisa Miko finished with 177 to place 40th, and Jessica Struthers completed the team's scoring by coming in 78th (198).

The CCIW Championships will be contested Friday and Saturday at Highland Park Country Club. Groups will begin teeing off at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
