The North Central College wrestling team is ranked 12th among NCAA Division III programs in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association poll, released Tuesday.

The Cardinals (11-5-1) took part in the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Saturday. North Central beat 18th-ranked Williams College (Mass.), 23-16, and lost to No. 1-ranked Augsburg College (Minn.), 25-12, before tying 11th-ranked St. John's University (Minn.), 15-15. St. John's advanced in the tournament based on the tiebreaker criteria.

The Cardinals are one of two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin teams to be ranked in the poll. Elmhurst College (7-2) sits eighth in this week's poll.

North Central also has three wrestlers ranked in the NWCA's Individual Top 10. Johnny Starzyk and Gabe Youel continue to sit third at 141 and 184 pounds, respectively, while Nathan Fitzenreider has moved up one spot to fifth at 133.

The Cardinals travel to the Manchester College (Ind.) Spartan Mat Classic on Saturday. Action is scheduled to get under way at 9 a.m. local time.
