D3football.com Top 25 Poll

Oct. 18, 2010 -
The North Central College football team has moved up one spot to sixth in the most recent NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll conducted by D3football.com.

The Cardinals (6-0, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) remained unbeaten with a 38-7 victory over Millikin University on Saturday and received 475 points in this week's voting. Another CCIW foe, Wheaton College, is ranked 17th this week, while Illinois Wesleyan University received votes but fell outside the top 25.

The defending Division III national champion, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, once again received 23 of 25 first-place votes and occupies the first spot in the poll, followed by the national runner-up, the University of Mount Union (Ohio). Wesley College (Del.), the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) round out the top five.

The D3football.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly throughout the season.

North Central celebrates its annual Homecoming this weekend, hosting Illinois Wesleyan (5-1, 2-1 CCIW) on Saturday. Kickoff at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium is scheduled for 2 p.m. North Central's campus radio station, 89.1-FM WONC, will carry the game live, and live in-game statistics can be accessed at northcentralcardinals.com.
