Mar. 8, 2010-- For the fifth consecutive season, the North Central College women's cross country team has been honored by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, earning the All-Academic Team award for excellence in the classroom and on the course.

The Cardinals, 2009 Champions of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and fifth place finishers at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, have now landed All-Academic Team honors every season since the award was first started in 2005.

A total of 153 programs where honored by the USTFCCCA, including six of the eight institutions from the CCIW. Joining the Cardinals on the list was Augustana College, Elmhurst College, Illinois Wesleyan University, North Park University and Wheaton College.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.
