JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (Apr. 12, 2010) - The North Central College women's golf team opened the 2010 spring season at the Illinois College Spring Tournament Saturday and Sunday, turning in a fourth-place team finish as Alyssa Gaudio topped the individual leaderboard.

The Cardinals finished with a 36-hole score of 769, placing them in the middle of the seven-team field. Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) won the team title with a score of 714, just ahead of Millikin University's total of 715.

Gaudio prevailed by one stroke over individual runner-up Brittany Holmes of Millikin, carding a two-day total of 164. Gaudio's first-round score of 80 matched the best score by any golfer in the field in either round.

Mallory Carr also finished in the top 10, placing sixth with a score of 172, while Melissa Rosenberg tied for 26th (212), and Madeline Moton placed 28th (221).

North Central travels to the Millikin Spring Classic next weekend, which will be held at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur, Ill. Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
