DECATUR, Ill. (Apr. 17, 2010) - North Central College women's golfer Alyssa Gaudio nearly claimed medalist honors for the second straight tournament on Saturday, placing second at the Millikin University Spring Classic.

Gaudio led after Friday's first round, finishing with an 18-hole total of 79, then carded an 89 on the second day to finish in a tie with John A. Logan Community College's Mallory Gentry. Gentry won the individual championship in a playoff.

North Central took just three golfers to the event and did not figure into the team scoring. Wheaton College won the team title with a score of 699, securing a four-stroke victory over the Indiana Institute of Technology.

Mallory Carr placed 16th with a total of 179, while Melissa Rosenberg finished 56th with 225.

The Cardinals travel to St .Andrew's Golf Course in West Chicago on Saturday and Sunday for the Benedictine University Spring Invitational.
