Jan. 17, 2011 -  North Central College's Brian Evans has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15.

The senior guard received the first Player of the Week nod of his career after leading the Cardinals to a pair of CCIW victories last week. In Wednesday's 69-57 victory at North Park University, Evans scored a season-high 15 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the floor and also collected a team-high eight rebounds as well as five assists.

In a 67-55 win over Millikin University on Saturday, he finished with eight points and team bests of nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. For the week, he shot 75 percent (9 of 12) from the floor.

Evans is the second player from the North Central men's team to receive Player of the Week honors from the CCIW this season. Freshman guard CJ Goldthree was named the conference's top player for Dec. 12-18.

The Cardinals return to action Wednesday, traveling to Carthage College. Tipoff at Tarble Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
