Get to Know Peter Bulandr

Q: How long have you been playing football?
A: I have been playing football since fifth grade.

Q: Who is your favorite NFL team?
A: The Chicago Bears.

Q: Who is your favorite NFL player?
A: Alex Brown. I went to a football camp with him when I was really young and he is the nicest man I have ever met in my life.

Q: Have you ever played any other sports?
A: I have played volleyball, basketball, lacrosse and I have wrestled for one year and I am proud to say that I was the worst wrestler in Stevenson High School history.

Q:Have you always played the same position?
A: No. I have played offensive line, tight end, and defensive line now.

Q:  What on-campus activities are you involved in?
A: I am in an economics honors society and finance honors society.

Q: What has been your favorite class at North Central College?
A: My favorite class at North Central College has probably been Wealth Management with Dr. Andrew Whitaker. He's just a really inspirational guy that loves his class and loves what he does. It was easy to go to that class every day.

Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
A: There are a few songs we listen to in the locker room before every game. Typically Willie Hayes or James Robinson and I are the last two out of the locker room. But that's about it.

Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
A: Hopefully one day when me or Willie score a touchdown we have a touchdown dance we like to break out and if not we might just do it for giggles anyway.

Q:  What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
A: I guess one of the things we talked about in our Cardinal Manual was “you can never fail if you never quit.” So that's sort of the thing I've based college off of.

Q: Do you have any personal goals for the season?
A: I originally, at the beginning of the season, had a personal goal of being all-conference and hopefully being an all-American but as the season has gone on I am more worried about us winning than I am worried about myself doing well.

Q: What is it like playing for head coach John Thorne?
A: It's been a dream. He's had so much fun this season. He comes to our meetings with different things. Like when we played Elmhurst it was the bird bowl and he came in with a hat on with a cardinal on it and he has just been having so much fun. Like I said it's been a dream, it's been awesome.

Q: What are you going to miss most about playing North Central football?
A: I will miss playing with all my best friends the most. I will miss playing football, period. I know my parents will miss all the tailgating and stuff and I'll miss doing that with them and having them come out to games.

Q:  Do you have any advice for next year's incoming freshmen?
A: Once you make it past summer camp everything is easy. Summer camp sucks, and it has sucked all four years I've done it and you're going to want to quit, but stick with it because it's really worth it.
