ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Sept. 28-Oct. 1, 2012) – The North Central College women's tennis team participated in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Tournament, hosted by Washington University, Sept. 28-Oct. 1 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.

Madeline Urban scored the lone singles victory for the Cardinals (8-5) in the opening round of the championship bracket, downing Fontbonne University's Mary Trotter, 6-0, 6-0, but the junior would fall in the second round to Illinois Wesleyan University's Andrea Kerwin, 6-3, 6-1.

After suffering an opening round setback, Jenny Velasquez bounced back in the first round of the consolation bracket handling Augustana College's Lauren Kaczmarek in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, but would succumb in the next round at the hands of Eleni Coleman of Denison University, 6-0, 6-0.

North Central closes out the fall schedule on Oct. 5-6, travelling to Elmhurst College for the 2012 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships.
