Derek Raridon has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 10-16.
Raridon received the distinction, his first of the season, after helping lead the fourth-ranked Cardinals to a pair of victories last week. North Central defeated the University of Wisconsin-Platteville,
73-64, at home on Tuesday before traveling to crosstown rival Benedictine University and beating the Eagles,
61-55, on Saturday.
Raridon scored 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting in the win over Platteville, then turned in 12 points and five assists in the victory over Benedictine. A three-time All-CCIW selection, Raridon averages a team-high 13.6 points per game along with 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. He currently ranks seventh in North Central history in scoring with 1,363 points.
The Cardinals have received two of the five Player of the Week Awards which have been bestowed thus far this season. Junior forward
Landon Gamble was so honored for the week of Nov. 19-25.
Currently sitting at 9-0 for just the second time in the program's history, North Central is idle until Dec. 28-29, when it travels to the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas to take on 11th-ranked Ramapo College (N.J.) and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in the
