Feb. 22, 2012 - North Central College head men's basketball coach Todd Raridon has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Coach of the Year for the 2011-2012 season.

Raridon received the distinction on Wednesday after leading the Cardinals to their second straight CCIW Championship and their first outright conference title since 1990.

North Central finished the season with an overall record of 18-7 and a 12-2 effort in conference play to secure first place in the CCIW standings. The Cardinals will host the CCIW Tournament as its No. 1 seed for the second straight year. Raridon, who was named the CCIW's Co-Coach of the Year last season, is the only North Central coach to win the honor since it was instituted by the CCIW in 2002.

In his eighth season as the Cardinals' head coach, Raridon owns an overall record of 124 wins and 82 losses. He ranks second in North Central history in coaching victories and ranks first among all Cardinal men's basketball coaches in winning percentage (.602). He led the Cardinals to a victory in the inaugural CCIW Tournament and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship in 2006.

North Central will host the CCIW Tournament this weekend. The Cardinals will take on Augustana College in the semifinal on Friday, a game which will be televised live on Naperville Community Television, Channel 17 and nctv17.com, and will also feature a live audio broadcast on North Central's campus radio station, 89.1 FM WONC, and wonc.org. Live in-game statistics for all games in the tournament will be available at sidearmstats.com/ncc/mbball.
