2011-2012 All-CCIW Men's Basketball Teams

Feb. 22, 2012 - The North Central College men's basketball team was rewarded for a successful season by the head coaches of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Wednesday, as four Cardinals were among the 15 players named to the 2011-2012 All-CCIW Teams.

Junior forward Derek Raridon and sophomore forward Landon Gamble were both named to the All-CCIW First Team, while junior forward Aaron Tiknis made the Second Team and sophomore guard CJ Goldthree was selected to the Third Team. The only other season that saw North Central receive four All-Conference selections was the 1946-47 campaign, which was the conference's inaugural year.

Aaron Tiknis
Gamble and Raridon were joined on the First Team by Illinois Wesleyan University's Jordan Zimmer, Wheaton College's Tim McCrary, and Carthage College's Malcom Kelly. McCrary received the CCIW's Fred Young Most Outstanding Player Award.

Gamble is North Central's leading scorer this season at 13.6 points per game, sixth-best in the CCIW, while ranking second on the team in rebounds (4.9 per game) and field-goal percentage (.513). He was also a First Team All-CCIW selection last season.

Raridon, who has put up 12.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest, leads the CCIW and ranks fourth nationally in free-throw percentage (.904). He became North Central's 23rd 1,000-point scorer earlier this season and currently ranks 14th in school history with 1,178 career points. A Second Team All-CCIW selection each of the past two seasons, Raridon is now one of eight North Central players to earn All-Conference honors three times. Only one Cardinal, Bill Warden '55, has earned four All-Conference selections.

Tiknis has averaged 11.2 points per game while leading the conference in three-point percentage (.541). He ranks second in the CCIW in field-goal percentage (.584), third in assists (3.6 apg) and blocked shots (1.25 bpg), and fourth in rebounds (7.0 rpg). Tiknis joined McCrary and Zimmer as the only players to earn multiple CCIW Player of the Week Awards this season.

CJ Goldthree
Despite having come off the bench for the past 10 games, Goldthree ranks second on North Central's team and eighth in the CCIW in scoring (12.9 ppg) this season. He also ranks in the conference's top 10 in free-throw percentage (.752) and steals (1.29 spg). Goldthree is the only non-starter among this year's 15 All-CCIW honorees.

North Central (18-7) won the CCIW Championship with a record of 12-2 and earned the right to host the CCIW Tournament this weekend. The Cardinals will take on Augustana College in the semifinal on Friday, a game which will be televised live on Naperville Community Television, Channel 17 and nctv17.com, and will also feature a live audio broadcast on North Central's campus radio station, 89.1 FM WONC, and wonc.org. Live in-game statistics for all games in the tournament will be available at sidearmstats.com/ncc/mbball.
