Student-Athletes to Present at Research Conference

Mar. 19, 2012 - North Central College senior student-athletes Kelvin Guilbault and Eric McKee will be among the among a large group of North Central students participating in the prestigious National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) Mar. 29-31 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

A total of 45 North Central students were selected out of a pool of nearly 3,200 total submissions, giving North Central the largest representation of any institution attending the conference. NCUR is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study. This annual gathering welcomes more than 2,500 scholars and their faculty mentors from all institutions of higher learning in the United States.

Guilbault, a senior member of the Cardinals' men's cross country and track and field programs, will be co-presenting a mathematics presentation entitled, "Inverse Preserving Functions in the P-Adic Fields." McKee, a senior member of North Central's men's tennis program, will be giving an economics presentation entitled, "The Effectiveness of Precious Metals and Commodities in Hedging Inflation."

This is the third consecutive year that a record number of students from North Central College will participate in the nation's leading conference on undergraduate research. To learn more about the conference, visit ncur.org or weber.edu/ncur2012.
