May 9, 2012 - North Central College alumnus
Kyle Fiedorowicz will get an opportunity to audition for a spot on a National Football League roster this weekend, as he has been invited to participate in a rookie minicamp hosted by the New Orleans Saints May 11-13.
Fiedorowicz wrapped up a four-year playing career at tight end for North Central last fall. He finished the 2011 campaign as the Cardinals' leading receiver, hauling in 25 receptions for 381 yards. He caught eight touchdown passes, ranking seventh in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) in touchdowns scored and matching the fifth-highest single-season total in school history.
A three-time First Team All-CCIW selection and a 2011 All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D3football.com, Fiedorowicz finished his collegiate career second in North Central history in touchdown receptions (22) and made 66 total catches for 1,015 yards.
He will join the Saints' draft picks and other rookie free agents at the minicamp, which will be held at the Saints' training facility in Metairie, La. NFL teams are permitted to have a rookie minicamp on one of the two weekends following the NFL Draft. The Saints will also host organized team activities (OTAs) on May 22-24, May 29-31 and June 11-14, as well as a combined minicamp on June 5-7.
