Meet Information
Nov. 9, 2017 - Continuing their championship season, the North Central Cardinals women's cross country team will travel to the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois this weekend to compete in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship.
Coming off a third-place finish at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championship two weeks ago, the Cardinals again look to their younger members to lead them in this race, with four of their potential top five finishers being underclassmen.
Freshmen
Madelyn Scopp and
Alexis Henz were North Central's top two finishers at the conference meet, finishing seventh and 12th, respectively. Following them was their only upperclassmen, senior
Allison Hartman, taking 18th place. Two more underclassmen finished the scoring for the Cardinals, with sophomore
Allyson McLaughlin in 27th and freshman
Emma Jourdan in 28th. They are all slated to run this weekend in addition to freshman
Julie Kupiec and sophomore
Payton Hartman.
This team of mostly newcomers seeks to improve their ninth-place finish at last year's regional meet.
Allison Hartman is the only returning member from the regional squad from last year and is the only upperclassman set to race this weekend.
The race is scheduled to start at 12 pm on Saturday.
