Baseball's Alumni Field was officially dedicated in 1999. North Central contracted with one of the most respected groundskeepers in baseball to develop it, Larry Hallaert, head groundskeeper of the Cincinnati Reds' spring training facility in Sarasota, Fla. Alumni Field, which has been favorably compared to a professional minor league facility, features permanent seating for 750 fans and a fully-enclosed and wired press box with heating and air conditioning. Over the years, Alumni Field has hosted the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association summer state tournament as well as Major League Baseball's RBI World Series and the Area Code tryouts.
