Kim Wallner was co-captain during the 1983 "dream season" when the women's basketball team won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) National Championship. 

A junior guard, she finished her career as North Central's all-time leading scorer with 2,421 points. She finished her career as the College's all-time leading scorer (2,421) and holds the career records for assists (762), steals (289), field goals made (1,069), field goals attempted (2,565) as well as single-season records in assists (213) and steals (86). 

A member of the American Women's Sports Foundation All-American Team, the first All-American basketball team in college history, Wallner set single scoring records. Named All-State Tournament MVP, she scored over one thousand points and left North Central with 2,241 assists, 762 field goals made, 1,069 field goal attempts and 289 steals. She holds the record for 213 personal assists. 

After graduating, she taught physical education for 12 years at Benjamin Middle School in West Chicago, Ill., while also coaching basketball at West Chicago High School. She earned a master's degree from Northern Illinois University.
