The North Central College men's swimming team's third straight NAIA national title was won in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, as the Cardinals won nine of 17 events and set six NAIA records, scoring 101 points to runner-up Macalester College’s (Minnesota) total of 54.

Al Corrigan '65 broke the 200-yard freestyle record by more than 10 seconds while also prevailing in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley. Mark Michelson ’66 won the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events, while JimHartzell '65 placed first in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke and Roger Kiekhofer '64 claimed the 100-yard freestyle. Michelson, Kiekhofer, Hartzell and Byron Ware '68 joined forces to win the 400-yard medley relay.
