WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 7, 2019) – The North Central College women's cross country team endured freezing temperatures at the Red/White Open on Thursday, where three Cardinals notched top-10 finishes in the team's third and final trip to St. James Farm on the season.
Freshman
Leslye Rodriguez was the team's first runner through the line, completing the 3-mile course in 18 minutes and 36.9 seconds to secure fourth-place, just ahead of teammate
Rachael Vaccaro (18:44.6) in fifth.
Allie Ganser (18:57.4) was next through the line in seventh, followed by
Rachael Temple (19:29.9) in 14th and
Charlieana Salzmann (19:51.2) in 16th.
Hannah Kirby (20:02.1) and
Carly Dagen (20:55.5) added 20th and 25th-place finishes.
Summer Pierson from Moody Bible Institute clocked the fastest time of the meet with an 18:16.2. The 29th-ranked Wheaton College won the meet with 28 points, while North Central totaled 43.
North Central heads to Winneconne, Wisconsin on Nov. 16 for the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Championship. The women's race is set to get underway at noon.
