NCAA DIII Baseball Regional Rankings

May 4, 2022 - In the first installment of the NCAA DII Baseball Regional Rankings, the North Central College baseball team comes in at No. 3 in Region VIII, the organization released on Wednesday.

Webster University takes the top spot in the region with Aurora University in second. Behind the Cardinals are Augustana College, Benedictine University, Millikin University, Spalding University, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering to round out the top eight.

North Central has won six games in a row, with a 28-8 overall record and a 13-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin record. Among the ranked teams in Region VIII, the Cardinals are 5-2 with the two losses coming at the hands of the top two teams, Webster and Aurora. In total, North Central is 6-6 against regionally ranked teams.

Winning their seventh consecutive CCIW regular-season title on Sunday, the Cardinals close out the season with the University of Dubuque tonight before wrapping up the CCIW slate with Illinois Wesleyan and a doubleheader against Carthage on Saturday.

The Cardinals continue their six-game homestand by facing the Dubuque tonight in their final non-conference game of the season. The contest is set for 5 PM at Zimmerman Stadium.
