Eric Gruber '16 joined the North Central College coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball program prior to the 2017-2018 academic year.
In addition to his duties at North Central, Gruber currently serves at head coach of the AAU program Chicago Lockdown, entering his third season in 2017-18.
Gruber was a four-year member of the Cardinals' men's golf program from 2012-2016, while also serving as an assistant coach during the 2016-17 season. He competed in three College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship tournaments, highlighted by a 17th-place finish as a junior in 2015, and averaged a career-best stroke average of 78.43 as a senior.
He graduated from North Central in spring 2016 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast communication and will be pursuing a master's degree in leadership studies, with an emphasis in sports leadership. While at North Central, he served at sports director at WONC for two years and currently works at NCTV17 in Naperville.
