"We are really pleased to be able to bring this game to the community," said NCTV17 Executive Director Liz Spencer. "North Central College has a great athletic tradition. The live football broadcast is a wonderful addition to our sports coverage."
The Cardinals are ranked 13th in national rankings and defeated Carthage College,
63-48, this past weekend to improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. This weekend's game against third-ranked Wheaton will have the Cardinal's battling for the Little Brass Bell for the 61st time.
"Not too many Division III teams have the opportunity to have their games televised live," said North Central head football coach
John Thorne. "We're very happy that the College and NCTV are making this happen."
NCTV17 also produces two weekly shows about North Central sports, including "The Red Zone" hosted by Mahoney with football highlights and player and coach interviews. "The Cardinal Report" focuses on other North Central sports programs and is hosted by Will Armistead '07. Both weekly programs are also produced in partnership with North Central College.
Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 2 p.m. An audio broadcast is also available at
