PLYMOUTH, Wis. (Nov. 7, 2009) – The North Central College wrestling team turned in a perfect 3-0 effort to open the season Saturday, vanquishing all three of its opponents in the Lakeland College Duals.

The Cardinals opened with a 31-12 victory over the host Muskies, then dominated the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 34-3, before a 23-11 win over Trine University (Ind.)

Trent Reinoehl and Gabe Youel won by pin at 149 and 184 pounds, respectively, against Lakeland, while technical falls were posted by Nathan Fitzenreider at 133, Andrew Zobac at 141 and Vinnie Sapienza at 197. Cowan Brown added a major-decision victory at 174.

Fitzenreider won by fall against MSOE. Zobac and Brown each won by major decision, as did Ron Uccardi at 165. Decision victories were recorded by Joe Norton at 125, Jacob Sandborn at 157, Youel at 184, Grant Bushby at 197 and Rodney Knowlton at 285.

Norton and Brown each won by major decision in the final match of the day against Trine. Zobac, Youel and Knowlton each were victorious by decision and Fitzenreider accepted a forfeit. 

North Central travels to Cornell College (Iowa) for a dual meet on Wednesday. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m.
