Aug. 11, 2009 - North Central College women's golfer Alyssa Gaudio has been honored with a selection to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the 2008-2009 season.

To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and competed in at least 66 percent of the team's scheduled rounds during the year. In all, 410 golfers were selected among the three divisions of the NCAA, and Gaudio was one of 67 recipients from Division III institutions.

Gaudio, an exercise science major, posted the Cardinals' low 18-hole stroke average (84.6) last season, earning All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin honors for the second straight season. She was also an Academic All-CCIW selection the past two seasons.

North Central opens the 2009 fall season Sept. 1, traveling to Broken Arrow Golf Club in Lockport, Ill., to participate in the University of St. Francis Fall Invitational.
