NGCA Press Release

July 9, 2012 - North Central College women's golfer Mary Kate Rohn has been honored with a selection to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team for the 2011-2012 season.

To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and competed in at least 66 percent of the team's scheduled rounds during the year. In all, 585 golfers were selected among the three divisions of the NCAA, and Rohn was among 87 honorees from NCAA Division III institutions.

She was joined by five other honorees from College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) institutions. Augustana College also had three selections, while Illinois Wesleyan University had two.

A sport management major, Rohn ranked third on the team last season with an 18-hole stroke average of 84.0. She posted five top-10 finishes during the year and placed 14th in the CCIW Championships in October. Her season-low round of 76 was achieved on Mar. 31 at the Washington University in St. Louis Spring Invitational.

This is the second straight year that Rohn has been named to the All-American Scholar Team. North Central has had at least one representative on the team in each of the past four seasons.

The Cardinals open the 2012 fall season on Sept. 1 when they compete in the Robert Morris University Fall Classic at Foss Park Golf Course in North Chicago.
