The North Central College football team has moved up one spot to No. 12 in the most recent NCAA Division III National Top 25 poll conducted by D3football.com.

The Cardinals received 319 points in this week's voting after traveling to the University of Wisconsin-Stout and defeating the Blue Devils, 37-10, on Saturday in North Central's final non-conference game of the regular season.

Last season's national runner-up, the University of Mount Union (Ohio), moves up to the No. 1 spot in the poll this week, receiving 623 points and 23 first-place votes. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) is second with 598 points and two first-place votes. Rounding out the top five are Linfield College (Ore.), the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of St. Thomas (Minn.)

North Central is one of three College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) teams ranked in the top 25, joining 15th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University and 20th-ranked Wheaton College.

North Central is idle this week before opening CCIW play on Saturday, Sept. 29 against Elmhurst College.
