Derek Raridon and
Landon Gamble have been honored with selections to the 2012-2013 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Midwest District First Team. Raridon has also been recognized as the District's Player of the Year.
The pair are the first Cardinals to claim First Team All-District honors since Robert Brown '90 in 1990, and Raridon is the first North Central player to earn District Player of the Year honors. This is the first time the Cardinals have had two players earn All-District accolades.
Raridon adds the awards to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Year and First Team All-CCIW selection he received in February and the D3hoops.com First Team All-Midwest Region and Regional Player of the Year honors he earned last week. He has averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor, 46.2 percent from three-point range and 77.5 percent at the free-throw line. He has led the Cardinals to two CCIW Championships and two CCIW Tournament titles in his career, holding the school record for games played (109) and ranking second all-time at North Central in career scoring (1,678), assists (245), free throws made (449) and free throws attempted (557) and sixth in three-pointers made (123).
Gamble was also a First Team All-CCIW pick for the third straight time this season and was a D3hoops.com First Team All-Midwest Region pick a week ago as well. He has averaged 14.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while ranking 26th nationally in field-goal percentage (.591). He ranks 15th in North Central history in scoring (1,189).
Raridon was a Second Team All-District pick a year ago. He and Gamble are joined on this year's First Team by junior guards Julian Strickland of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) , senior forward Taylor Koth of Ripon College (Wis.), senior center Mark Lessen of Eureka College (Ill.) and senior forward Jake Schwarz of Lakeland College (Wis.)

NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship for the first time and will face Middlebury College (Vt.) on Friday at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern time.
