(Mar. 23, 2012) – The North Central College women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals on Saturday afternoon and cruised to an 18-3 win over The College of Mount St. Joseph to open Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play.
Adelaide Dieckmeyer wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard, and put the ball in the net just 25 seconds into the contest.
Gina Fisher added to the Cardinal lead with the first of her four goals with 26:32 remaining in the first half, and Dieckmeyer scored again just 21 seconds later to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.
Danielle Fiala made it 4-0 in favor of the home team, and Fisher added two more, and the Cardinals held a commanding 6-0 advantage with 11:03 still remaining in the first half.
Samantha Hughes got the Lions on the board with a free position shot, but Fiala answered with two more goals just 35 seconds apart, and Jacqueline Morgan added a goal to make the score 9-1 at the half.
The Cardinals added nine more goals in the second half, with

Bianca Perri,
Rachael Houp,
Jessica Morgan, and
Claire Norfleet all getting into the act.
Sarah Hon saved eight of the 14 shots to earn the victory in goal.
Fiala led the way with five goals and two assists, while Dieckmeyer added three goals. Norfleet dished out three assists, Fisher gobbled up seven ground balls, and the Cardinals set a season-high with 36 shots.
North Central remains at home on Tuesday when the Cardinals host Beloit College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
