Marble Earns CCIW Player of the Week

North Central College student-athlete Megan Marble has been honored as College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women's tennis Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 18-24.

Marble went undefeated in the Cardinals spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C. where the freshman posted a 3-0 mark at No. 6 singles as well as a 3-0 showing at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Marble opened her trip by defeating Benedict College's (S.C.) Daniel Howlett, 6-2, 6-0 on Mar. 17.  Two days later, Marble made quick work of Graceland University's (Iowa) Paige Robino, 6-0, 6-1, before downing Lydia Browne of Edinboro University (Pa.) in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 the following afternoon.

In doubles play, the combination of Marble and Kassandra Bernardo were victorious over McDaniel College's (Md.) Danelle Clancy and Sophie White, 8-3 before defeating Graceland's Robino and Michelle Maqueda, 8-5 and sneaking out a 9-8 victory over Edinboro's Browne and Nevena Kulina on the final day.

North Central continues its spring schedule on April 14, playing host to Aurora University at 11 a.m. at the NCC Tennis Courts.
