Box Score

Apr. 26, 2013 - One night after a down-to-the-wire overtime win, the North Central College women's lacrosse team enjoyed a much less stressful path to victory on Friday, as the Cardinals posted their second shutout of the season in an 18-0 conquest of Loras College at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

North Central (10-4) is now in double digits in the win column for the first time in school history and improved to 6-0 in home games this season while tying their highest single-game scoring output of the campaign.

The Cardinals scored twice in the first minute of play and never looked back, holding the Duhawks (1-13) without a shot in the entire game. North Central got its 18 goals from 11 different players.

Claire Norfleet led the Cardinals' charge with a season-high five goals. Gina Fisher turned in five assists and Danielle Fiala added four, and the pair shared the team lead in ground balls as each had five. Fiala also recorded a team-best four draw controls.

The Cardinals host Fontbonne University (2-7, 1-5 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) in their regular-season finale on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. Senior Day activities will be conducted prior to the game.
